About the project

The second phase of Meridiano 105 focuses on the conversation between to indigenous poets: Rosa Maqueda Vicente, a ñähñu woman born in the Valle del Mezquital, Hidalgo; and Joanne Arnott, a Meti woman born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. With this second phase of the project we were looking to focus our attention directly on two voice, two lives, and the works of two artists exploring, through this conversation, the connections between two cultures, two spaces, and two women. We attempted to create a volume that followed that which was particular to the experience of each poet, focusing on intermingling the personal cartography of their lives.

Just like in our las volume, we worked with contemporary poets that live within the nations known today as México and Canada. Both authors collaborated with us in this project providing a small sample of their work and sharing a series of email conversations  which lead to a one on one conversation which is also included within this volume.
